well, tim, i am (perhaps) in part at fault for chris' silence. we agreed on a price for the belts, and i sent him the money...in a misaddressed envelope, returned yesterday to me from my landlord (i sent rent at the same time in a separate envelope). chris didn't know what was up until this morning when i mailed him, and he had said others had been wondering. the check is now in the mail correctly addressed to chris in pennsylvania.

as for the rest, i don't know.
