This is roughly what the Eurovan is going for and about $7000 less than the projected price that VW talked about when they initially "asked for our opinion" in their website survey about the new Microbus. VW's sales demographic has changed, unfortunately. VW might claim that it isn't their fault - that the clients have changed and they are simply following that trend. It would appear that the clients are not after simple, cheap and reliable transportation any more. They want muscle, bells, whistles and frills. I find the Vanagon far more complicated to service than The BozoBus, but the engine has been more reliable. I've had eight engines in The BozoBus and only one in the Vanagon. (Admittedly, many of those eight were hand-me-downs; 211Kmiles vs 185Kmiles.) I'd take the bare-metal of The Bozobus with a more-reliable engine and disk brakes any day... -- bcnu - Grungy (Houston, TX) '60 dddPanel '69 Bug '90 Vanagon '93 Eurovan '00 Audi A6 Avant grungy@mindless.com opinions are just that.obviously. |
