Maybe this is another one ofthose 175k failures that eventually happens to us, but I've never seen a post on this list about the cheapo plastic flap tearing where the throttle pedal attaches to the floor. Couple of questions: 1. Are those wide flange rivets holding the pedal to the floor? Can a regular bolts replace them? 2. The VW parts guru says that there's a throttle pedal "reinforcer" in addition to the replacement pedal. Anybody installed on of these? Does it help? Will report on the Dynamatting of the front end of the Vanagon in a while.
