I think vaccuum leak and/or exhaust leak. Marshall Ruskin ----- Original Message ----- From: "Vanagon man" <vgonman@MSN.COM> To: <vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM> Sent: Friday, June 14, 2002 06:26 AM Subject: Your early Morning/digifant/digitool brain teaser
Ok, here are the facts. Yesterday got the 88 running (turned out to be shielding on O2 sensor green wire touching connector, thus giving ecu constant lean signal) adjusted mixture and idle per bentley, all seems well............drove around half an hour or so, no probs at all running great..........no black smoke when giving hard throttle, etc. Seemed OK This morning I take it on a long run to do some work, and come slowing down to a red light, in drive (automatic tranny) Konks out. Starts right back up, but is hunting badly( tach going feverishly between 800 and 1200 rpm) I look at digitool, O2 sensor readings, -.26 to -.39...........Give full pedal, very hesitant, little bucking, and vroom off I go till the next redlight. Same procedure. This only happens when motor is fully warm, and the temp 1 and temp 2 sensor digitool readings are where they should be, as is the AFM. Any ideas?
