Hi All, It's me again... intrepid owner of 1985 Wesfalia financial black hole :-) I just got back from rounds one and two with the local VW dealer (Delon in Salem Oregon) and the private business that did the work (German Motors, also of Salem). What I found out will hopefully serve as a warning for anyone that is contemplating the installation of a VW of Canada (or from anywhere else for that matter) motor. VW does not pay labor on their engines unless they are installed by a factory authorized shop. This cracked head is going to cost me money because Delon didn't do the install. Fortunately the owner of German Motors is a man of integrity and is going to cut this painful learning experience in half. At this point I am rather demoralized by the huge vacuum created as the dollars are escaping my checking account. Anyone want to buy a Vanagon with enough financial gravity to collapse the gross national product of a medium sized country? Time to make some tea and let it all go :-) Brian __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Yahoo! - Official partner of 2002 FIFA World Cup http://fifaworldcup.yahoo.com |
