I know that there is a link on the vanagon.com site about "What do you keep in your VW" but it runs the gamut from used coffee cups to spare motors. I have not yet attained that level of competence to drop my motor in Walla Walla, Washington but I like to carry with me a basic toolbox. Any recommendations on what tools the Listers would deem basic for survival to replace a coolant temp sensor in Timbuktu or an O2 sensor in Omaha? Again, I am no 2.1 wbx genius. I could do some basic work on my old 68 VW bus and have figured out a few things on my rig but the Vanagon really is a whole different world. If you could only carry enough tools/wires/duct tape to fit under one side of the bench seat, what would they be? As for my dream car, I would buy back my old 68 VW bus and convert it to electric. The looks on peoples faces as a VW glides silently away from a stoplight would be worth the price of admission. Marty 91 carat |
