Jeffory,

I can address the fridge upside down issue.

Last year when I bought by 85 Westy, the fridge wouldn't get cooler than 50-55 degrees F.

Found a local guy who had a lot of experience working on these same Dometic units. When I described my problem on the phone, first question he asked was "Did you Burp It".

After my laughter died down, he calmly explained that they need to be turned upside down occasionally. I think it was all about trapped air bubbles, but not really sure. I was in denial and not listening.

The procedure:

Remove the frig ..... turn it upside down, making it as level as possible.

Let it sit this way over night (6-8 hrs).

Turn it over, plug it into 110V and let it run 4-6 hrs.

After about an hour of 110V..... the temp was down to factory specs.

Reinstalled the fridge, lit it on propane. Let it run for another 4-6hrs.

Everything was great and has been every since.

Maybe a more knowledgeable list member can explain why this works.

At least for some performance problems.

Good Luck - - - - - - -

Also is there any truth to the rumor that by turning the refrigerator upside down for a period of time before re-installing it that sometimes efficiency is increased? Thank you all for any help you can give me I really appreciate it!
