Subject: O2 Sensor discovery
Content-Type: text/plain

Folks,

First, let me thank everybody who replied to my "new clutch, now leaking oil" question. Going back to the shop tomorrow. Will post the results.

One thing i did discover: i had the shop guys replace my Temp II sensor while the van was up on the lift for the clutch work.

No Difference in hot/cold performance at all.

I also swapped out the stock thermostat with the cooler 80 degree model. My needle is now at or below the LED rather than at or above.

Still, no difference in performance.

So... i disconnected the O2 sensor.

A-Hah! Now, once warmed up, my van seems to pull through the gears much more consistently. There is still, it seems, more torque when the vehicle is cold, but the 2nd gear the 3rd performance is much better with the O2 sensor out of the loop.

I'll have gas mileage figures later in the week.
