Send me all the numbers you have on the radio and I'll take them to my VW dealer who can get the codes for me-

In a fully original 91 westy that I have there is a slight problem. The original stereo is in the "safe" mode and I have given up trying to figure out what the lottery # might be. I called my local VW dealer and they said that they can only retreive codes from 96 up they dont archive any further back than that. I could exchange the unit for $170.00 but I dont know if it is worth it. I am a purist and would love to have it original but I also cheep and I am proud that this one has made it through all these years without being hacked up by some juvinile trying to make it BOOM I would love to keep it the way it should be any one have any ideas, like where to retreive a code in the basement of the Hanover AG plant or something. are there any websites out there with codes..
