I have both in front of me, and the manual steering wheel is larger than the
power.
I guess I will live with the soft springs and power steering, and focus on a
front end rebuild, and shocks, and tires.
One of the things I noticed is that it seems floatier at high speeds
(87westy vs. 80westy).  Partly because the 87 just goes faster.  Being used
to the air cooled I am haveng to let off the gas a whole bunch.  How sweet
it is to have a westy with everything working.  Well, except the odometer,
and the clock.


By the way, I have an 80 westy with a significant oil leak that I haven't
tracked down.  Lots of power (I mean lots of power for an air cooled),  Good
camping equipment, good tranny, great suspension, poor body avail for
sale/parting.  Any suggestions wants...
