yeah, you don't have the 12v pin... well, at least mine didn't. I took
the the 12V in part of the scan-tool and tapped off the wire with a male
and female spade connector. Then i grabbed 12v from the fuel-pump fuse
under the back seat. Works.  You need to supply 12 volts to pin 16 on
the OBD connector.
