Subject: [FIX]auto tranny experts HELP!(little long)
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=iso-8859-1

I need some help. I have lost seconed gear in my transmission. It will only shift directly from first to third. If I put lever in 2nd it doesn't engauge the engine just revs. When on the road and I kick it down, won't go to 2nd just revs.

This all started when I tried to fix my 2nd gear brake leak. (I posted before and got no response)I destroyed the piston, bought a used transmision and used that piston as a temp fix.

To keep short Following Q's.

Would adjsuting the 2nd gear brake do any good or is it shot? Would changing the valve under the throttle body help? What is resaonable cost to rebuild trany already out of van? The used tranny has the dipstick coming form the case not the pan... Seller claimed that it came from vanagon and had already sold the transaxel, need to determine if it will work before I spend money to rebuild for install. I have the numbers can provide if it will help. Thanks Dan 86 GL
