Subject: Leaking after clutch job, chapter two
Content-Type: text/plain

Folks,

Well, without any questions the shop is going to separate the transmission once again and find out what is leaking.

I know i sound like a walking advertisement, but i do believe in credit where it's due and i have to say Good Carma, of Minneapolis, is a good group. I feel how a mechanic deals with problems is at least an equal measure of how they do the job in the first place, and these guys stepped right up without hesitation. Being from Brooklyn, NY, i was anticipating a bit of a fight: "Leakn' Oil? i don't see no leakn' oil."

After a look at the vehicle and the small puddle it was making, Dave asked me if i was planning on taking the van on a trip this weekend, "'cause if you are, we'll bump some folks to get the work done." I wasn't planning on going anywhere this weekend... so it'll be next week sometime, but that's ok.

I stopped by the shop to see what was going on... there was a '90 Carat up on the lift, heads off. It is constantly amazing to see just how small the waterboxer engine is. Duane pointed out the pitting problem on the heads that had come down. Scary... a lot of metal was missing.

Anyway, i'll have the endgame on the clutch replacement/leak-o-rama sometime next week.
