Subject: value of 85 vanagon westfalia?
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii; format=flowed

Hi All,

I've got an '85 vanagon camper that I will be selling and I'm curious what it's worth. Edmonds has it at $3,861(retail) and $1,849 (trade-in). NADA is a bit higher at $3,975 (retail) and $2,450 (wholesale).

It's a typical camper, gold, w/all the orig stuff (snap on screens, carpet, tables etc.), captain chair in middle, A/C (works, not converted, needs coolant), no rust (been in New Mexico most its life), canvas in good shape, engine (runs ok, but has one weak cylinder), interior excellent, paint & body good (a couple minor dents and a small bend in the rear bumper). No mods to speak of, but I did put a small hitch on it that I used to pull a tiny Coleman camper trailer. 1st year water-buffalo. Frig, stove, etc. all work fine. lousy stereo system.

Do the NADA/Edmund appraisal sound about right? Would it be worth more in another region... CA? How about Ebay?

Would appreciate any suggestions, Thanks in advance,

Ivan
