Cleaning it up for public consumption, I'd mention that Jim Arnott has informed
me of the vanagon@yahoogroups.com SPARE list.

OK, I feel *MUCH* better informed and a like my ass is a bit lop-sided with
that chunk bit out of it... Yeeeks!
Where have I been? Um, dealing with real buses until I skipped over the Vanagon
problem children <flame bait> and into the Eurovan camper. It has been several
years since I owned the aircooled 83 2.0L Westy. I recently resubbed to this
list while shopping for a nice 86-91 Synchro Westy. In short order it was
obvious that the same discussions regarding what engine to use as a
replacement, the death quiver cutting out of the WBX, the cost of the VCs,
expense of Synchro trannies and the age of the vans vs. the typical 20 grand
for an 11-15 year old unit. For the money I stepped into an under market deal
on a killer 97 EVC.
Appologies extended for not being all knowing of the Vanagon list. The animated
spew as previously described will be uploaded soon.
