Subject: Tiico: stuttering when i step on the gas

More TiiCo stuff for you folks: patient- syncro westy w/ a tiico engine. low miles. a2 fuel rail. timing at 6 degrees, CO at 128.

symptoms: stuttering. When running 87 octane w/ the oxygen sensor connected it runs like crap. Stutters if i accelerate too fast. Above about 3.8K it is fine though. If i remove the oxygen sensor it runs better, but still stutters when i accelerate too much. With premium gas it is much worse- the bus is not even really drivable! This was happening before and after the fuel rail conversion from 'stock' to an a2 rail. The oxygen sensor was old from the transplant w/ unknown miles on it! Three wire jobbie too.

Prescription? I can log the oxygen sensor data and look at it, but don't always have a laptop to mess with (it's my wife's, what can i say?). Do we suspect my timing is still off, or something else? BTW i am getting NO knocks at all. Should i lean the mixture to say 100 instead of 128? More stuttering w/ premium gas tells me the timing is still way off or my mixture is way too rich. I never sniffed the tailpipe to measure the CO though.

Suggestions appreciated. Thanks Matthew 86 syncro westy tiico
