Upon looking at the jumpseat, it has the same rails that the middle seat that I took out had. I might get lucky and will be able to just slide it on then bolt it. The engine thats in there now has about 80,000 on it. When I bought the van I found that the van itself had 320,000 on it, but the engine was replaced in like 92' . All the people who had it before me kept the reciepts from the work they did. I made a cool binder out of them. I think that before I replace the engine (especially since I don't have any money for that now) I'll let it run it's course. Might as well. The headliner was easy. I went to Home Depot, and bought an outside glossy paint & primer, and little roller kits to paint it on. First I taped all the area up, then primered it, and then the next day I painted it. What was nice was that when it painted it looked natural, the paint went over very smooth. For the front I just used the primer. (it was light blue) Then I painted some sun designs on it. The back I used those glow in the dark plastic stars and space shapes, and put a little portable black light up. What is cool is that I have the overhead A/C stock, so the front and back were divided, so the sky effect came out cool. When painting though, the headliner actually goes all the way down to the windows in the back, and by the seatbelts in the front, so that parts had to be painted too. have fun, Tracy Craig Rogers <rogers23@optonline.net> wrote: Cool, You will probably have to do some welding to add the jump seat. I would suggest getting a stainless steel exhaust system. The regular steel ones don't last, but then again, it sounds like you really love your van and should consider an engine swap to something with more longevity and more power. The new exhaust system is easy to bolt on but you should use a high speed grinder with a cutting disk or a cutting torch to remove the old one. If you get the parts and take it to a Midas or some similar place they will probably charge you about $50, maybe less because it doesn't take long. I'd would like to hear more about what you did to the headliner. What sort of paint did you use on it. I've been thinking of cool headliners, but painting it didn't enter my mind.

Looks as if the entire exaust will have to be taken out to fix. I will bring it to my mechanic to do this one. I just hope that nothing else breaks when he goes to take it out to fix, the pipes are very rusty. I have a feeling that before I came along the bus was sitting for awhile. I think this is gonna be expensive. Well at least the more stuff breaks while he's fixing it, the less I will hve to worry about in the future. Might as well do as much as possible. > Yes, I love the GD, as well as Phish. My bus is a 85' GL. I painted the celing dark blue in the back and put stars and stuff up. In the front I did light blue, with sun designs. Me and my friends made cool curtains made out of tapestry material. I took the old rear bench seat out and put the bed version in. I recently took out the middle seat, and purchased the kitchenette unit, and a 5th seat. Now I just have to figure out how to put that in. I'm missing the propane tank, h20 tank and pump, and the guard that goes over the propane tank. I plan on painting it a nice green, and then having professionally done flames going down the sides, I want the flames to go into the GD space your face symbol on the passenger side, and the Phish symbol on the drivers side. I have a really nice stereo system in it too. Gotta have the tunes. So I got big plans for Ripple. But it'll look really cool when I'm done. > have fun, > Tracy > 85' GL "Ripple" > Craig Rogers wrote: Hi Tracy, > > Don't let these jerks bother you. > > The first thing you have to figure out is if the sound is from a leak or > from a cylinder not firing.
