Subject: the VW Eurovan's future is doomed here in the US...please read

a lister just wrote that the "new microbus" concept will be a replacement for the smaller VW Sharan minivan - (ie, ford windstar minivan w/ a vw symbol on the front) -Not a replacement for the larger Eurovan - and i would asume that the "new microbus" will be sold in the US.

think about this. with current Eurovan sales practically NIL (local VW dealership has sold ONE eurovan in the past 6 months) ... when they introduce the "new Microbus" here in the US do you think VW is really going to spend the money and try to sell both Eurovans and "new microbuses" at the same time?? hell no. the Eurovan will SURELY get scrapped from the US market when the "new microbus" minivan arrives... the only EV left would be the $40k winnebago camper..

so if you want a "larger" vw passenger van, buy a EV now...otherwise in a few years you'll get stuck with a minivan that's no bigger than a dodge caravan, with a sorry attempt at retro styling on the body.. VW sure it working hard to transition themselves into a different market.. practicality and utilitarianism has been replaced by leather seats and DVD players.. whatever happened to the people's car? someone needs to slap Ferdinand with a wet noodle..
