You can always use the math of gear ratio, Rpms, tire diameter etc to be
precise but its only 200 rpm and I can't see that changing your life
unless you'r over 6000 rpms.
I think its correct.
I had a bad coil and it threw my Tach off, that is how I found it.
Your alternator may be giving you closer to 15v and that can also make a
slight difference over the VW 14v charging rate.
