Subject: Cheap front AC for an 86 Westy
Content-type: text/plain; charset="US-ASCII"

Hi Folks,

I just wanted to pass on a quick mod to my 1986 Westy. Being an Alaskan who likes the cool ... I am not trying not to melt as the temp climbs to 95 F, here in Portland, Oregon.

Basically it's a simple mod that allows me to have cool air, up front (on my neck in particular).

1 - 20' roll of Dryer exhaust hose

1 - set of black clips

Total cost: $8.98.

I have not had time to trim the 20' of hose down to the 8' I need. Also, I plan on finding a funnel shaped register (perhaps out of a junked car dash vent syetem) and installing a complete cover so I capture and direct all the cool air forward as I can.

Have a look. I'll pass on more fotos, when I get a more permanent system installed.

Stay Cool!
