Subject: Wiring loom routing into cab? (82 diesel)

Hi everyone, a simple (I hope!) question for you:

I have a 1982 diesel westy. I'm installing oil temp and oil pressure guages in it, and am in the final stages of running the wires from the senders up from the engine compartment to the dash. I started at the back, and have been running the wires under the bus along the main wiring loom, zap-strapping them to the side of the loom as I go. So far, it's pretty much followed the left-side longitudinal frame member, I fished the wire over the fuel tank with a coat hanger, then up to the very front of the bus. I dropped the spare tire and windshield washer fluid tanks to get better access to the wire routing at the very front.

The thing is, once the wire goes up (as in vertically up) it appears to zig and zag a bit and I lose track of where it goes. I'd really like to follow the path the loom takes to the main fuse box, but I can't see how it goes. This exercise was really really easy in my old '76 buses; I wasn't expecting this to be weird.

Could someone please tell me how to route the wiring from the underside of the bus into the cab interior for a clean installation? Do I have to remove the lower rad grill to help route it up? If I fish with a coat hanger to guide the wires, where do I fish? I can't even find where the loom enters the cab, fer gosh sakes! Gawd, it's crowded under that dash!

Any help would be most appreciated.

T.
