I edited and embellished the concept with the round headlights, added the VANBONDO front license plate, moved the turn indicators to the present pre-1968 location, changed the paint scheme to a V in the front, tubbed and tucked the tire/whls, dropped the body and changed the sliding door runner to below the "belt line". I have a shockwave/flash file with an animated comparison between the concept and my/our concept. I may have used Dave's original change as a basis from which to work. I concur that the newbeetle headlights look much better. Now for a Dormobile/Synchro W8 version! =) I will try to up load the animated file some where. Why doesnt this list put together a VANAGON-list group in Yahoogroups.com? That could be a place to upload files, databases, pics, art etc. -Jim Ellis Phoenix, AZ

<< Man, wish I could find my redesign of that ride. Mine was MUCH better than what VW came up with! I retroed mine and included ROUND headlamps, a center VW emblem that acts as a grille, and a sloping nose that resembles a 1960s era bus. Frankly, VW's design is poor. JMHO! Dave >>
