My '91 Westy is heading west in a few short days. She longs to pop her top and feel the open road beneath her once again. After over a year of meticulous mechanical restoration and care, she's ready to be backed out of her garage and head west. Although I have gone to great lengths and willing expensive to get her in tip-top mechanical shape, I am reminded by a fellow vanagon owners wisdom who said, in so many words, that your vanagon is only as reliable as it's oldest part. That being said, I have made note of the recommended vanagon.com VW mechanics along her route. However, there are some gaps in coverage. Specifically, TN, southern Missouri, Oklahoma City area, the northern panhandle of TX, southern Colorado, mountain biking country in eastern Utah, and eastern OR. My '91 and I shall be forever grateful to any list serve member that could recommend someone in the know in these areas. Thanks in advance for your input. Denise '91 Vanagon Westy (Tail Wgn) |
