Starter hesitation can also be caused by a failing battery, a poor charging system, or current loss from something a simple as the lighter. Make sure you check the voltage and cranking amps of the battery. gary Date: Mon, 17 Jun 2002 20:12:03 -0400 From: Hans Brouwer <h.brouwer@SYMPATICO.CA> Subject: Re: Starter hesitation Did your old starter do the same thing? My starter is a bit lazy. What a lot of volks have mentioned is that you should check all the ground wires and make sure they are not corroded. There was also a recall from Volkswagen to add a ground wire (for what years??). If someone has the write up for this please let me know. Hans Cumberland, Ontario 86 Westfalia 92 Cabriolet
