I used Yakima roof/gutter towers that were used (in a box in back room full of rack parts/towers from employees) at a rack-specific store in Salt Lake. Bought new 72" poles. I'll send pics later tonight or tomorrow so you can see the installation and decide for yourself. I mount bikes only...mt. and road bikes. I can hang on the rack or stand on it, so it's "buff". The poles cost the most....the towers about $10.00 each set (20.00 for the four). Slightly modified the "hook" end of the mounting piece that grabs the gutter. I've seen others with this same installation on my travels. It keeps the bike below the roof line and so no scraping the bikes off driving into garages, carports, parking lots....any low clearance. Also down out of the wind so no hiway drag at speed (such as that is). Bob Stevens '91 Westy
