Hi,

I'm trying to get a new starter in my van. BUT there's a mess of wiring rigged up to a button on the dash and a 4-way relay near the starter. I know this was probably to get around the voltage loss. My question: When this was rigged, did the rigger leave the (factory) blue/brown wire coming from the front just hanging there? It is coming in with a large red wire that is now going into the relay. The 3 wires coming out of the relay are going:

1-to a ground in the engine compartment 2- to the bolt contact on the starter 3- used to be on a spade connector on the starter, but that spade is not there. The spade that is missing IS NOT NEAR the others, so I do not want to just rig this loose wire to the other spade connectors just cuz they're there. Any Ideas what's going on?

My new starter has one less spade connetor. Even though the old starter had one that did not appear to be connected to the others, do they all go to the same place?

Thanks, Steve
