Ok, Camper types here's the story:

Found a dealer out near Reno Nevada who advertises rebuilt VW vans, guaranteed 100 % , no question.

Talked to this man for a month prior to purchasing the 1990 westy weekender and developed what I thought was an honest relationship with him..............

The delivery went fine, an auto hauler delivered it 50 miles from my home at a reasonable price two months ago.

Had a problem with the power windows, paid to have them repaired.......Air vents screwed up repaired them myself.. Tires were not what he represented to me, got a new set of Michlen 6 plys.............big bucks $$$$.

Turned on the air-conditioned, no cold. Paid $237.68 for 3 lbs. of # 134 ( I think ) tax and service charge inc. Found out the compressor was bad, phoned the dealer, told him I would pay for the charging of the air system and pay for the installation of the new compressor but he needed to send me a replacement compressor and I would return my non working one to him. Several telephone calls later and after many excuse and delays and after he hemmed and hawed he basically told me to kiss off. I reminded him of his guarantee, he squirmed and finally said " well I lied to you because I was going to lose money on the deal".

Now it's summer time and I notice the heater will not shut off, the hot air blows constantly.............. Droped the spare and notice that the heater control valve has been removed and the hose is straight spliced so the hot water was going thru the heater core constantly plus the control wire is not anywhere in sight..........

Now how about one of you folks out there give me some suggestions. I look in my Bently on page 80.16 and the digigram as I interpert shows the heater control valve as item # 6. My heating systen has no additional heating unit so I beleive I need to just add the valve and hook up some kind of control wite to it........Not necessarily to the original control pannel............

Now This dealer dosen't have a clue of what I look like but when I go out to Reno to visit my nephew this summer I am going to pay him a visit ............... Pay back is a Bi_ _ h, and with me it's not an eye for an eye, it's an eye for a tooth. If one of you folks can e me your telephone # I will phone you and talk about my heater set up..............Or give me some input via the list or p-mail

Thanks for the help & thanks for the list. Clarence. 90 westy multi.
