Could one run the Audi 5-speed upside down along with the 5-cyl motor? Anyone try this, obviously the fill and the level check holes would be rendered useless. Would lubrication be sufficient?

I'm trying to decide what to put in our pickup, and I will only consider VW "family" engines. The Audi 10 valve 5-cyl engines are plentiful and cheap.

TK around? No? Good...

SUBARU.

Reliability Smoothness Availability Fit Sound Choice of hp & capacity Availability of adaptor kit off-shelf It's a boxer!

Against? Perhaps lower-than-average fuel economy; the EJ-series engine was never noted for frugality.
