Subject: advice needed for '90 Weekender Carat
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii

Just bought a 1990 Carat after a long search. After three weeks of enjoyable daily driving have a few questions:

1. Is there an easy way to improve the low beams? The high beams are teriffic but the low beams are as bad as the low beams on my stock '74 bug! Checked the aiming and it's OK. Discovered a Hella conversion is avaialble on the NET but for hundreds of dollars. Is there a reasonable solution?

2. Is there an easy way to mount fog lamps above the bumper? My Vanagon has the grey plastic bumpers but the clearance from the metal to the top of the plastic bumper it too much for me to just simply mount the lamps directly to the metal bumper frame.

3. Any tips about keeping this van in tip top shape would be greatly appreciated

greg
