hello!

1st of all belated thanks to everyone who gave me feeback on my query. you people are so awesome.

next, well I am going crazy at this point, who knew that I was a vanagon virgin a mere two weeks ago, and now, obsessed.

im trying to get the syncro I asked about, I drove it a coupla times & after reading all the archives & stuff I think the vibrations that it makes @ 45-50mph are in the driveshaft. it doesn't look like its leaking coolant, but I did notice a pretty minor oil drip (after 3 days I saw 2 small drops on the ground, looking up I saw some oil accumulated on the metal fin part towards the back) okay, so at this point I think I have revealed my utter mechanical naiveté, please no flames.

all in all the van is in good shape, the guy doesnšt seem to be interested in less than $2800, seems fair.

anyway, I am shaking the money tree now to see I can get $2.8G to fall down (MUCH harder than it should be)

if I get it, I will be pestering you guys with info for the urban vanagon owner (im in new york city, east village)

if I donšt, I think I will need a twelve step.

thanks again for the great info.

jh
