Subject:      2001 Cabrio Stereo


Dear Listees,


I am now the proud owner of a radio-cassette players out of a 2001 VW cabrio
(golf).  I bought it off my neighbour who fitted a non-VW CD as soon as she
purchased the vehicle. I have the correct security number, but do not seem
to be able to get power to it.  If anyone out there has a modern VW radio
and can tell me where I need power/ground on the 8-pin lower connector, I
would be most grateful.  The input panel on the back for power has 8 inputs
as follows:


Kl31    Kl58b   S
Kl30    SAFE    K-LN    ALM


The fuse is on the left on this table.  The model No. is 1JM 035 157 A and I
think it is called a 'premium 5'.  It has 3 standard input plugs on the
back.
