hmmmmmm...

Owned it now for 3 days

We have 4 vehicles (Porsche 944 -not running, i'm swapping motors in it, Ford Tarus (hers), 81 VW Pickup - my daily driver, and the Vanagon now)

My needs and wants are well satisfied with the Vanagon, but it really isn't neccessary.

She does not need to drive it, and she doesn't drive stick very well. She would have to be tied and gaged and forced into the passenger seat.

I do have a minor say in what she drives, but not much.

No kids, (yet)

And I use the 81 vw pickup for hauling a lot of stuff, but if the Vanagon has a hitch available for it I'd like to tow my 1400lbs boat, can I do that? The pick up pulls it but I could use a little more torque for the ramp and hill climbing power.

Great ideas for tricking my way into keeping the vanagon, but could I live with myself knowing I did it that way? I've only been married 4 years so maybe I have a lot to learn still.

>And THEN, if she still hates it, write back!

I've got a month to get ride of it (or figure out a way to keep it) so I will probably write back, i'll keep you up to date.

Thanks to all for the great advice, I will only take $1,000,000 dollars for it now. And it looks like crap and performs wonderfully as a smoke machine. A/C works great (plenty of rusted through ventilation holes) and I could go on forever, but just in case, if someone from the list is really interested I will sell it to you $3500.00 otherwise I'll see how stalling works.
