The hole where the tierod bolts onto are in a different spot. You can still use them but you will notice greater steering effort. However, you will also notice that you will get quicker steering (less turns lock-to-lock).

IIRC brackets are different unless you have an inline 4. I was also told that the Golf pump does not provide enough pressure to make it work properly with those long lines. There is probably a way to make them work but is it cost effective? Probabaly not.
