Hey Greg, I just worked through a similar audio upgrade. Based on passed experiences with amps in tight or confined spaces like under the driver's seat or in the back closet I chose a more open location. I've had bad things happen to/with amps in confined spaces. I knew I was gonna have to give up a littls storage space one way or another and after lots of thinkin' I put my amps under the sink. I removed the false bottom in there and have a 4 x 75 watt amp and a 200w sub amp under there. I also installed a cooling fan in the back. Obviously the first thing I did was re-check and double check all my sink/water connections. No leaks thank you very much. :) With the false bottom removed both amps fit under the shelf. I also "just in case" put a bead of silicone along the sides of the shelf in case of sudden water problem. The shelf will then protect the amps as any drips will run down and off the back of the shelf. Oh ya, I also tilted the shelf back like 3 degrees just for the purpose. j --- Bob Stevens <mtbiker62@HOTMAIL.COM> wrote: > Mine were already installed when I got my van but, > they're mounted on the > floor of the closet, on a thick felt-type pad, > bolted to the bottom, stacked > on each other with spacers, covered with a > plexiglass shield held in place > by the bolts holding the units on the floor.
