If no > coolant is flowing at idle then there is no reason to do this. Is this > necessary? Oh yeah. The idling period is necessary after high-speed driving, like my 75 to 80 MPH cruise, to remove excess heat from the heads and prevent heat soak. This idling period usually happens as I pull off the interstate and meander to a gas station. I figure 3 minutes after getting off the interstate is enough. Chris, '85 Westy |
