Subject: jumper cable question
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii" ; format="flowed"

I had this thought, as I jumped my 1986 Westy weekender from my aux. to my main using standard jumper cables today.

1. Do those "jumper cables" that claim you can jump one car from another from one 12v cigarette outlet to another really work?!

(below is a link to an example).

2. If they do really work, than in theory, could I just plug one into my dash 12v outlet (primary batt), and the other into my aux 12v (aux batt) outlet below the passenger seat to jump my car?!

I hate to sound lazy but the concept sounds better than moving my seats if I accidently kill my primary battery. Also, my battery compartments have covers that are screwed on rather than having the flip up lid. It's not exactly quick and easy to get to each battery. I'd say they are easy ... and that I am looking for a quick solution. I'm wondering if this could be one.

Thoughts? Ideas? Comments?

Just something I thought of as I was busy jumping my van this afternoon.
