I have been using water wetter (Red Line brand) in my 16v GTi for a year now
and have had good results.  These cars normally run HOT anyway and the water
wetter helps a little bit.  Helps the "flow" through the tight passages and
lets water circulate better.  Sort of like lubricating your water/coolant.
