Subject: Heads On ,Engine In: '87 Westy RUNS!!

After redoing the head gaskets a second time and replacing a bad lifter, Sunday night I scooted the engine under the raised van and got it all bolted up and wired in. Monday morning I filled the fluids and rechecked it all again and turned the key...IT RUNS!!

I need to redo the timing as it has a little spurious hesitation and bulks a little on harder acceleration. I also need to redo the coolant burping as I let the expansion tank run low when I went to answer the phone and the radiator bleeder spurted too much coolant before I got it shut off. It runs hotter than normal and in a one mile test run it got well above the LED and the blinking light came on. I can beat this though.

I appreciate all of the help and p-mail in answering my questions in this discovery process.

Thanks again. Stephen Chillicothe OH
