Sounds like mine. The regulator (cable guided track) has likely broken away where it attaches to the window. Not a cheap item and dealer only for new ones. You might find a used one from a list member for cheaper than the $165 (cheapest I could find locally) my dealer charged me. BTW, what's up with the wide differences in VW dealer prices?!

Regards, Mike

Hello All :

Problem........ Raised the power window on the drivers side of my 1990 Westy. I heard something go clunk inside the door, the window stopped about 2 inches from the top. I lowered the window with the window switch then tried to raise it up and SHAZAM the window fell to the bottom... It will not operate at all now, however the motor will run when I operate the switch. What is the problem and what should look for. I know I have to take off the door panel off are there any secrets I should know................ send help thank you for the list..... :-) Regards. clarence 1990 multi.
