Somebody sed:

> > And the 4th digit in my VIN is X, meaning kombi. Were the weekenders built > > as kombis and sent to Westphalia for the conversion?

Then Pensylvania Chris sez:

> is there some discrepancy as to weather your westy weekender is a westy or > not??

Then I sez:

My Wolfsburg Westy, with the so-called "weekender" interior with no fridge, sink or stove, is recognized by my insurance company as a "camper'. My insurance card says "Vanagon Camper". The Westfalia badge says it's a Westfalia conversion. The badge near the passenger door of the vehicle says it's camper. So it's a camper.

As Chris suggested, the insurance adjuster ought to stand up inside and drop the pop-top on his/her head. Unless they are too short. Then I might have a few other suggestions.

Chris,

'85 Westy.
