Subject: Sans O2 Sensor - Problem??
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="US-ASCII"

When I first installed my SS header kit, I noticed a definite improvement in performance. Now after a few months, I've been noticing a gradual loss of that newfound horsepower. So, I figure it must all have to do with a leak in the exhaust somewhere affecting that pesky O2 sensor. But, I can find no leak. So, I try running with a disconnected 02 sensor (which is also fairly new). Seems to be running real nice without it. My questions are; 1) can I screw anything up by running like this? 2) Do I have to adjust the AFM or throttle or anything to run like this, especially if it's apparently running well? 3) is the 02 sensor only important before the engine reaches optimum temperature?

Thanks, Brian Doss '88 Weekender, Queequeg
