I'm Back! I worked for "Coolit" a drop in replacement for Freon and they had published war stories from people that crossed the Texas border into Mexico to get a Freon charge at huge discounts. Many were recharged with Butane (which will cool) but the problems came when the recyclers of used Freon exploded several cookers and killed a goodly number of workers. Since those times better testing and gaseous separation had eleminated the threat of death in recycling but it is still going on in many places and not only in Mexico. I'd say *Pick up the phone and call the compressor manufacturer or rebuilder and make him state his warranty policy*.
