Subject: Head aches

I am replacing the heads on my 2.1 and wondered if there were ever posts related to using something other than the rubber gaskets. It seems like after 120K the constant expansion and contraction being absorbed by these rubber gaskets would eventually cause leaks but how bout the cracks. Do the amc heads do better? Are the cracks related to metal fatigue or the gaskets not providing a solid flat surface. I have heard about the electrolysis but I think the real problem is that they start to leak because the seal goes bad over time because rubber does not stay elastic.
