This happened to me also. It is a problem with your cam. The lobes on the cam have failed. If you do a leak down test on 1-3 you will find that they hold up fine. Hans 83.5 westy

My 80 Westy has not been running well, so I finally got around to doing a compression test. Here were the results:

1 - 60 2 - 140 3 - 85 4 - 160

I can't imagine worse results. I am pretty sure I did get accurate readings. I rechecked # 1,3 and got the same results.

This may be the kiss of death for this puppy as the van is in fairly rough condition. As I walked away I was thinking "not another dime".
