We had a propane powered forklift at work develop a small leak in the hose that supplied the propane to the pressure regulator at the engine. Being in a confined space allowed the propane to accumulate in the proper air to fuel ratio for combustion to occur. When the associate turned the key to start the lift there was an explosion. Not a big one but enough the make the associate a believer in our requirements for a pre-start checkoff of the lift. He was not hurt but needed new pants as the fire burned his considerably.
