OK guys and gals, I am hooked on Diesel power! I went for my first real good drive in a 1.9L Turbo Diesel powered Single Cab Transporter tonight.

The motor is from a Canadian 1995 Jetta (code AAZ) and it is mounted in the Transporter at 15 degrees using our conversion kit.

This was one of the easiest motors I have installed yet - the electrical is very simple, just 12V to the fuel cut off solenoid and making up a glow plug relay circuit. Exhaust was also very simple - consisting of 2.0" pipe and a 20 inch resonator - it is VERY quiet yet you can still hear that whistle of power from the turbo charger.

Performance wise I would say 0 to 60 is better than what the original 2.1L wasserboxer did - not leaps and bounds but better also the toque peak starts a lot lower and you get a real good 'push in the seat of the pants' feeling on take off.

No real time to do any fuel consumption tests yet and unfortunately I will be handing it over to it's new owner this weekend - luck bum!
