Hi folks,


I am aware of the valve that needs replaced to fix the heater from being
constantly on. However I don't understand how the heater works. Yesterday
while on a road trip down rt 68 in Maryland (beutiful mountains) I realized
that manually sliding the lever on the valve did not do the trick. I then
got a hose clamp and a socket put it around the hose going into the heater
core and tighten it, made no difference.


  Is there any way I can simply disconnect the heater core at the wires. Or
should I just replace the valve and bleed a little air out of the system. I
just wonder what makes the heater core run ?
