For the "hand mashie" reason alone(and the fact that the speaker really fires into the dash),. I chose to put my Focal 6" 2 ways down low instead of in the stock hole location. Will repalce the CX4 Boston Acoustics soon with something else(they werein the stock front and rear loc.).

By moving the 6" ers down low and firing up the big amp, all you have to do is put your hand on the outside of the driver's door to understand why a Dynamat type product is needed. I also reinforced the area around the 4 and 6" holes with a carbon fiber/epoxy laminate that should be thinner than any wood or formica(lack of strength?) stiffener I could've used. May shoot a rough digital pic ifany one's interested. Will prolly have to run screws into the door sheet metal to get it all to stay put, but I don't hink Wolfsburg thought any of us would be doing big stereo things with their little plastic clips that hold the panel in. I have some finishing washers from the gunwales of an Old Town Canoe(stainless) that will look decent and should support the load with 10 screws. May have clearance problems, but that's what the grinder is for. Riveted the carbon to the door panel but did not epoxy it to the fiberboard. Was able to bolt the speakers through both materials and use some almost zero clearance 3/16" threaded 4 point nuts from a Dagger canoe. We'll see how it all fits here in a day or two.
