Over the past week or so, the (manual) steering on my '81 has gone from dead-on tight to about three inches of play. Definitley makes for an interesting experience on a breezy day! I had my wife turn the wheel back and forth while I crawled underneath and inspected the front end; there was no movement of the tie rods etc in that three-inch area, so I'm guessing the problem lies within the rack & pinion? I would have expected it to go more gradually... Anyway, is there anybody who rebuilds these things, or am I stuck buying a new one? Anybody got a good used one they'll sell me? Any help/advice would be much appreciated. JJ _________________________________________________________________ Join the world’s largest e-mail service with MSN Hotmail. http://www.hotmail.com |
