Craig The 2.1 will certainly fit into the engime bay of your 83.5. There are a lot of small and not so small differences between the 1.9 and 2.1 including: plumbing, idle control, wiring, exhaust and ECU. It's not simply a matter of dropping the 2.1 in place of the 1.9. Unless you're up for the challenge of a 2.1L conversion you are probably better off sticking with the 1.9! The heads on my 2.1 have not been replaced and will need to be serviced before too long. In my opinion it would be wise to have the heads serviced/resealed before installing my engine. I have not specifically priced it out but I would expect shipping cost, coast to coast to be in the $200-$300 price range. More than I would want to pay. Gary
